Congratulations to Onslow County on the sale of Burton Business and Industrial Park’s 30,000 sf Shell Building #2 to RQ Construction, LLC. The $1.45 million sale included the 18.8-acre site located at 723 Luther Midgett Dr.
RQ Construction, a Department of Defense contractor, expects to bring about 18 jobs to Jacksonville, with an average hourly wage of $16.
In 2016, JOED contributed $250,000 to building costs. The remainder of construction was funded with state money allocated to counties designated specifically for economic development purposes. Onslow County Commissioner Royce Bennet noted, “The sale money is going to go back into our economic development fund, and will be there for the county to use for other economic development projects in the future.
