Marly Cifranic has had a life-long association with coffee, with fond childhood memories of spending time with her grandfather, a Peruvian coffee farmer. He would give her milk in a cup, and to his delight, she would pretend it was coffee.

Fast forward to 2019, Marly was completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and Management, with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. In addition to completing her degree, she worked diligently to master the English language. It was in Cleveland that she met her soon-to-be husband Nick, who was working at a coffee roasting company. He soon joined the Marines after working in manufacturing as a CNC machinist. They share a love of quality coffee and joke that they are “coffee snobs.”

The idea of starting a mobile coffee catering business began while using her mom’s passenger van. She quickly learned that she needed a van customized for her mobile cart and equipment. JOED Partnership’s Community Business Loan Fund (CBLF) helped make that dream a reality. Marly was a perfect candidate for loan funds restricted for women and minority owned business by the generous Truist Grant to JOED’s CBLF.

Jireh Peruvian coffee offers a delightful catered experience for events such as weddings, business conferences, and reunions. The coffee is sourced from the finest Peruvian farms, known for producing smooth, mellow, and aromatic beans with a light body, mild acidity, and deep color. Catered events include espresso drinks, cold brew, and Affogato (espresso over ice cream). Her most popular coffee drink is Drip Coffee, which has become a trendy coffee drink in the past year. She explained, “Based on my research, coffee drinkers choose drip coffee more than other coffee beverages because the taste of coffee is greater.” Online customers can also purchase beans and grounds for home brewing.

She speaks with admiration for the Peruvian coffee farmers—hard-working yet pressured by poverty. She hopes that by pursuing fair-trade practices and acquiring certified organic coffee beans, she will bring recognition and prosperity to the farmers and their coffee in her Peruvian home region.

JOED will proudly serve Jireh Peruvian Coffee at our meetings.
