Onslow Bay Boatworks has been manufacturing high end fishing boats since 2005 for tournament fisherman. Founder Brad Knight is a second-generation boat builder and avid competition angler. He started Onslow Bay with a very specific goal – to build the best tournament center consoles on the water. He was successful in his design of a top-quality semi-custom center console that runs as well as it fishes and is ideal for the North Carolina coastal waters.

They currently offer a 27’ Offshore Edition and 33” Tournament Edition. “Coming Soon” will be the 41’ Tournament Edition. The growth of their sales, as well as the design of the new 41’ boat, has led them to seek a larger facility. Plans are to construct a 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility on an 8-acre campus in Camp Davis Industrial Park in Holly Ridge. The groundbreaking is expected in the fall.

JOED was instrumental in facilitating the company’s relocation decision. The Town of Holly Ridge offered a performance-based incentive grant of up to $46,125 for projected jobs and capital investment. Other key partners were the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), Duke Energy Progress, and Camp Davis Industrial Park.
